FAQ's  |  Colleges
What is the difference between Week 1 and Weeks 2-3?The Strive College Exploration Program initially began with 96 sessions April 20-23 (Week 1). These Week 1 sessions are exclusively panel presentations with three or more institutions collaborating to present together on a topic.
The Program has expanded to April 27-May 8 (Weeks 2 and 3) to allow more opportunities for students and colleges to connect. During Weeks 2 and 3 of the program, colleges may present dedicated, individual information sessions specifically about their institutions.

Is there a cost for colleges to participate? For Week 1 of the program, StriveScan donated free support for 96 panel presentations with 300+ colleges. StriveScan donated our services to deliver on our commitment to the colleges and students we serve. In these extraordinary times, StriveScan is grateful to provide a platform to increase access.
For Weeks 2 and 3 of the program, there is a registration fee for colleges to present during dedicated, individual information sessions. The registration fee is $200.

Can one institution register for multiple sessions?Due to a finite number of time slots and to provide students a diverse selection of colleges, each institution is limited to registering for one time slot throughout Weeks 2 and 3 of the program (April 27-May 8). This limit includes the international admissions office, any branches, campuses, programs, schools, or affiliates of the main campus as part of the same institution–please coordinate with your main undergraduate admissions office to register.
If your institution is participating in a panel presentation during Week 1 of the program (April 20-23), your institution may still register for one time slot to present an information session during Weeks 2 and 3 (April 27-May 8).

What organizations are eligible to present? All institutions must be regionally accredited, postsecondary, degree-granting institutions. Vendors, CBOs, military recruiters, ROTC officers, and other organizations cannot be accommodated.

What about international institutions? To provide the best experience for students seeking international experiences, all universities located outside of the United States are being featured exclusively on Monday, May 4, our dedicated international day.

What are the requirements for a Week 1 panel presentation?Applies only to Week 1 Panel Presentations (April 20-23):
Sessions must be panel presentations
Given the finite number of session timeslots available and to provide the best experience and exposure for students, all sessions will be panel presentations.
Minimum of Three Unique Institutions
Each college must partner with two or more other colleges (minimum of three unique institutions total) to form a panel presentation and submit a proposal.
Presentation Topics
We are broadly considering two different types of presentation topics:
General college knowledge:
Colleges may present on general informational topics that may be of interest to the target audience of juniors/underclassmen and their families. For example: Paying for College, Essay Writing, the Value of a Liberal Arts Education, Video Game Design Programs, or LGBTQ Student Issues. Be creative! Colleges are encouraged to present on topics of access and equity.
Colleges with a shared affinity, characteristic, or geography:
Groups of colleges may present on their institutions that share some commonality. For example: the BIG10 colleges, HBCUs, Public Colleges in the Northwest, Liberal Arts Colleges in the Midwest.

What is the program's schedule? To accommodate a wide variety of e-learning schedules nationwide, the Strive Virtual College Exploration Week includes a range of times throughout the entire day, on multiple days.
Session start times run from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Central Daylight Time, daily. (As early as 7:00 AM-6:00 PM Pacific, to as late as 10:00 AM-9:00 PM Eastern.)
When you submit a registration, you may select an available timeslot.

How long is each session? All sessions begin at the top of each hour and are 45 minutes long.
We recommend approximately 30 minutes be allocated for prepared materials with 15 minutes for questions and answers.

When is the registration deadline? We expect all timeslots to fill quickly, so do not delay.
Proposal will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Will colleges receive student contact information?Yes! Participating colleges will securely receive the prospective student information of students who register for their sessions.
Student information will be transmitted to the participating colleges for secure download.

Will the presenters need video or slides? Each presenter will be required to be on video using their own webcam and may also share their screen to present Powerpoint slides, webpages, or photos.
Panelists may turn on and off their webcams and mute/unmute their audio while other representatives are speaking.

Will students be able to ask questions?Yes! Students and families will have the opportunity to use the interactive Question and Answer tool to type questions to the presenters.
Students and families will not have the ability to share their video or audio.

How will the StriveScan team assist?A member of the StriveScan team (Dan, Zak, or Jenn) will be on each session to help assist with technical issues and moderate any questions from the audience.
